2027: Tinubu Supporters Launch Southwest Re-Election Drive With 3,000-Man Lagos Walk

A support group backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid will on Wednesday begin a grassroots mobilisation campaign in Lagos with a 3,000-man walk ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement, Southwest, said the Posterity Walk will take place at the Lagos Television premises in Agidingbi, Ikeja, bringing together supporters, stakeholders and residents from across the region.

Zonal Secretary of the group, Awoyinfa Opeoluwa, said the event would formally launch the movement’s campaign for Tinubu’s second term and strengthen its grassroots presence across the six South-West states.

“We are excited to announce the official flag-off of our campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general election.

“As we gear up for this critical electoral period, we are committed to mobilising support and ensuring that the vision and progress initiated by President Tinubu continue to flourish,” the statement read in part.

The organisers said participants would use banners and posters during the walk to highlight what they consider the administration’s efforts in economic development, governance and national unity.

According to the group, the event is intended to demonstrate support for Tinubu while building a wider network of grassroots voters ahead of the 2027 election.

“The Posterity Walk symbolises our unity and determination to support a leader who has consistently prioritised the welfare and development of our nation.

“Together, we will march in solidarity, showcasing our unwavering belief in President Tinubu’s ability to lead Nigeria into a prosperous future,” it said.

The mobilisation comes as political parties and support organisations intensify activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tinubu, elected president in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, is seeking another four-year term in 2027. His political base in Lagos and the wider South-West makes the region a significant battleground for his re-election campaign.

While opposition parties and sections of the public have criticised the administration over inflation, economic hardship and the impact of its reforms, supporters maintain that the policies are aimed at achieving longer-term economic growth.

The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement said Wednesday’s event would mark the start of sustained grassroots mobilisation across the South-West as it works to secure support for Tinubu’s re-election.
