Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has convened a joint meeting of stakeholders from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as political parties begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the International Convention Centre in Awka, according to a circular dated October 22.

The circular was signed by the Chief of Staff to the governor and Coordinator of the Secretariat for the Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra State, Dr Ben Nwankwo.

Soludo, who also serves as the Anambra State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council, scheduled the meeting to begin at 1pm, with accreditation starting at 10am.

Nwankwo stated that attendance would be restricted to accredited invitees, warning that participants must arrive early because the doors would be closed once proceedings begin.

The invitation covers serving and former political officeholders and party officials who remain members of either APGA or APC, including former governors and deputy governors of Anambra State.

Also invited are current and former members of the parties’ national, zonal and state working committees from Anambra, as well as their candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The list includes political appointees in the state and federal governments, members of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council from Anambra, and coordinators of support groups for President Bola Tinubu in the state.

Serving and former local government chairmen, mayors, transition committee chairmen, council secretaries, women leaders, youth leaders and elected councillors belonging to either party are also expected to attend.

The invitation further extends to current and former members of the APGA and APC Boards of Trustees, ward chairmen of both parties, and members of the state working committees of the Accord Party and the Peoples Democratic Party.

Other participants will include stakeholders nominated by the state chairmen of APGA and APC, alongside individuals selected by the state coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council.

The circular stated that the broad invitation was intended to ensure that all eligible stakeholders were informed of the meeting.

The gathering comes amid political realignments and preparations by parties and their supporters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
