From Attah Ede, Makurdi
Many people including women, have been injured in a ghastly accident involving a motor bus conveying Benue All Progressives Congress (APC) Supporters for the ongoing North Central mega rally taking place in Lafia, Nasarawa State, Saturday.
It was gathered that the victims are said to be predominantly loyalists of the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
It would be recalled that similar incident happened on March 25, 2026, where three delegates of the party from Ogbadibo Local Government Area in Benue State died and about 10 others sustained injuries when they were traveling in a bus from Makurdi to Lafia, Nasarawa State, to attend the APC North Central Zonal Congress.
In today’s incidence, the numbers of injured persons is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report
It was further learnt that the driver of the vehicle lost control and the vehicle crashed into the bush along the Makurdi-Lafia Expressway.
The spokesperson of APC camp loyal to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, in Benue State, Dan-Morgan Ihomun, confirmed the accident to the media.
He said that while nobody died, those injured were taken to hospital for medical attention.
