CP Ikioye Orutugu, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, has revived the Cattle Menace Committee within the Command to promote safer and more harmonious relations.
The committee has been reinstated to address issues arising from cattle grazing, such as the destruction of crops, accidents, and conflicts between herders and local communities in the state.
The committee’s goal is to mitigate the problems caused by stray cattle and herders in local communities.
The Commissioner announced this after playing the host to the Hausa/Fulani community in the state on Tuesday.
He also assured Anambra citizens and residents that the Command, under his leadership, will continue to take proactive steps to address all security concerns in the state.
Orutugu added that reviving the committee will help to promote a safer and more harmonious coexistence between the different communities in the state.
