The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been thrown into mourning following the confirmation of the brutal murder of its Director of Administration, Dr. Abdulraif Adekunle Adeniji, by suspected kidnappers.
Dr. Adeniji was abducted on Jan. 26, 2025, along with his brother and wife.
Tragically, his wife was shot dead during the abduction after reportedly struggling to keep pace with the kidnappers while they were being taken to an unknown location.
Despite a ransom payment of approximately N90 million, the kidnappers still went ahead to kill Adeniji.
The news of his death was confirmed by the APC’s Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagha Abel, who announced the closure of the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja until Monday, April 14, to honour the late official.
In a statement, Abel said, “The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National Secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday, April 14.
This decision was made following the sad news of the demise of our Director of Administration, Hon. Abdulraif Adekunle.”
Adeniji was known for his dedication and long-standing service to the party.
His untimely death has sparked fresh concerns over the rising insecurity and kidnappings in the country, even as many question the safety of citizens despite high ransom payments.
Authorities are yet to confirm any arrests or progress in the investigation into the case.
