Bandit Attack: Over 50 Woro Survivors Hospitalised as Senator Visits Victims

By Joy Yesufu

About 50 survivors of the recent bandits attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State are currently receiving medical treatment in various hospitals in Ilorin, the state capital.

The victims sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack last Tuesday, which reportedly claimed the lives of over 162 residents and the destruction of several houses.

Senator Sadiq Umar, who represents Kwara North Senatorial District, visited the injured survivors at their respective hospitals, where he sympathised with them and assured them of his continued support throughout their recovery.

Describing the incident as heartbreaking, the senator expressed concern over the suffering of the victims with gunshot wounds and other serious injuries, while offering prayers for their quick recovery.

He called for sustained and intensified security operations across Kwara North, noting that the senatorial district has continued to grapple with recurring security challenges.

Senator Umar also urged residents of the affected communities to remain united, hopeful and prayerful in the face of the tragedy, while reaffirming his commitment to the safety and wellbeing of his constituents.

He prayed for lasting peace and stability in the region.
