Bandits on Friday night invaded the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) at Kampani Village, Maro, located in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The bandits killed five worshippers and injured three.
Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, in a post on X quoted security sources as saying that the attack occurred on Friday, July 11, at about 3:30 p.m.
The gunmen were said to have invaded the church during a meeting of the worshippers.
A combined team of security operatives who were deployed to respond to an alert raised by a concerned citizen got to the scene, confirming five killed and three injured
The attackers were said to have a carried out the nefarious act around 9:30 pm on Friday.
Those killed were identified as Victor Haruna, Dogara Jatau, Luka Yari, Jesse Dalami, and Bawu John.
The three others who sustained serious injuries and are being treated in an unidentified medical facility were Samuel Aliyu, Philip Dominic, and Jacob Hussaini.
It was stated that security operatives have launch a search for those behind the crime.
