Nigerian billionaire industrialist and Chairman of the Ibru Organisation, Olorogun Oskar Ibru, has died at the age of 67.
The prominent businessman passed away after a brief illness, according to a statement by his family on Wednesday. Further details surrounding his death have not yet been disclosed.
Oskar Ibru was a central figure in Nigeria’s corporate world and one of the most visible heirs of the Ibru dynasty.
He played a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding the vast conglomerate founded by his late father, Olorogun Michael Ibru, whose business empire spanned shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.
His passing comes less than a decade after the death of the family patriarch in 2016.
Funeral arrangements, the family noted, will be announced in due course.
