The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) is battling a major fire outbreak at the Bono Energy Terminal located along the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway near Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos.
The agency confirmed the incident on Friday through its spokesperson, Shakiru Amodu, who said firefighters had been deployed to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby facilities.
“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a fire outbreak at Bono Energy Terminal on the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow,” Amodu said in a brief statement.
The cause of the fire had not been determined as of the time of filing this report, while there was no immediate information on casualties or the extent of damage.
Emergency responders remain at the scene as efforts continue to bring the situation under control.
