Nigerian soccer legend and former foremost Nigeria Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, is dead.
Dodomayana, as he is fondly called, reportedly died on Thursday morning after a prolonged illness at the age of 61
As at the time of filing this report the legendary goalie family is yet to make his death public.
However, a top Lagos State Government functionary has just confirmed the sad development.
It would be recalled that Peter Rufai slumps and was hospitalised in October 16, 2012.
The former Nigerian international, reportedly slumped in his office in Lagos and was rushed to Toki Hospital, off Adeniran Ogunsanya, after he suddenly collapsed.
Peter Rufai,” who played for Nigeria between 1983 and 1998, returned to the country from his base in Europe to start a youth sports development programme.
He had 65 international caps for the Eagles.
