The Anambra State Government has confirmed the release of the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Aghamba and wife who were kidnapped on Aug. 16 in Kogi state.
Mr Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, said that Aghamba and his wife were released on Saturday night.
He said that no ransom was paid for their release.
According to him, the release was achieved through divine intervention
“The commissioner and his wife have been released by the special grace of God. We were able to secure his release.” Aburime noted.
Aghamba and his wife were abducted while traveling to Abuja to attend Gov. Soludo’s daughter’s wedding.
His aide, ABK Offiah, who was traveling with them, was shot dead by the gunmen.
