The lawmakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly have impeached the Dr Mudashiru Obasa.
The Network gathered that the Speaker’s sudden impeachment has to do with a multi billion alleged fraud scandal rocking the assembly.
The Lawmakers have elected his Deputy, Lasbat Meranda, as his replacement.
The new speaker who represents Apapa Constituency 1, was a former chief whip of the House.
Obasa’s removal follows mounting allegation of corruption and financial mismanagement him.
The Network gathered that the lawmakers are accusing Obasa of allegedly spending N17 billion on a gate to the assembly complex which they described as a fraud.
