Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has passed away.
The news of her death was announced on Friday by a family member via a social media post.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. From Allah we came and to Him we shall return. I wish to inform the public of the passing of my grandmother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who died a few hours ago,” the statement read.
The family described the late matriarch as a devoted mother and prayed for the repose of her soul, urging well-wishers to remember her in prayers.
Details regarding the circumstances surrounding her death were not immediately disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
Her passing comes amid ongoing legal developments involving her son, Nasir El-Rufai.
