Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sentenced Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment.
Justice Omotosho had earlier convicted Kanu on all seven counts of terrorism offences, ruling that the evidence of the prosecution was not controverted.
Omotosho sentenced the IPOB leader to life imprisonment for counts 1, 4, 5, 6; 20 years imprisonment without no option of fine for count 3, and 5 years imprisonment without no option of fine for count 7.
