COAS Felicitates With JTF “Operation Udo Ka”, Assures Unwaivering Support

Soludo Gifts N39m to Injured Soldiers

Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has felicitated with the Joint Taskforce South East Operation “Udo Ka” during his Sallah Special Lunch at the 302 Artillery Regiment (General Support), Onitsha, Anambra state.

Oluyede, represented by Maj.-Gen. Adewale Adekeye, in his remarks at the Eid-Al-Adah celebration on Saturday, said the military would continue to remember members of the taskforce, especially those who have undergone rigorous rites inorder to purify themselves.

“Let us take a moment of the value that is before us as personnel of the Nigeria Army, and indeed members of the armed forces of Nigeria working together with constitutional civilian authorities, to ensure that peace and harmony is maintain while we uphold law and order. 

“I must say that I am proud to see how all of you came out to show you are embodied in spirit, putting other citizens ahead of yourself, working tirelessly to ensure that the peace and security of our great nation is maintained, especially within a joint taskforce area of responsibility, operation Udo Ka.

“Let me take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to the outstanding effort of the troops of this operation. Your bravery, resilience, dedication to duty have not gone unnoticed.

“I must acknowledge the numerous successes, including the recent seizure of a truck containing more than 1666 bale of ammunition within this general area.

“I commend President Bola Tinubu, who has continued to give his full support both financially and morally to the armed forces to excel in its operations.

“Let me appreciate the General Officer Commander 82 Division, Enugu, as well as the force commander operation Udo Ka on your tireless efforts towards giving inspiration to your men.

“We have also paid our respect to those who have paid the supreme price, those of you with injuries, you have not been forgotten.

 “We will continue to tirelessly get you all needed to do the operation better,” Oluyede assured.

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state, who was elated by gallant operation of the JTF, announced a reward of N1million each to the 39 wounded soldiers,  totalling N39million.

While commending the JTF for the recorded successes, Soludo also assured the injured of free medical services in the state’s teaching hospitals.

“We recognize and thank the Armed Forces and our vigilante groups who are playing a supportive role in our quest for safety,” he stated.

The Governor cited specific areas such as Ebonesie, Ihiala, and Lilu that have felt the impacts of the security forces in the fight against criminals and their activities.

Maj.-Gen. Oluyemi Olutoye, GOC 82 Division, Enugu and Force Commander of the JTF Operation Udo Ka, commended the personnel under his command and other security agencies for the resilience in the face of threats in the execution of duties.

“Your efforts in the theatre of operation continues to speak volumes, not through noise, but through results,” he said.
