No fewer than thirty-five(35)people on transit to Saminaka in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State for Eid-el-Maulud celebration have died when the vehicle conveying them was involved in a fatal motor accident.
The Network gathered that the affected Victims being conveyed with a J5 bus to a particular area for Eid-el-Maulud celebration ran into an articulated vehicle.
Although, relevant authorities were yet to officially confirm the incident, one of the Maulud celebration organizers, Malam Abdullahi, told journalists on Monday that the accident had disrupted their plans for the event.
He revealed that 35 people died in the crash, while about 30 injured victims were taken to a medical facility in neighboring Plateau State.
He said those Injured were currently receiving treatment.
Additionally, he mentioned that another vehicle in their convoy collided with a motorbike, resulting in further casualties and injuries.
” I did the head count, there were about 70 people including women and children both dead and alive.
It was a sad development. We’ve taken the injured to JUTH in Jos for medical attention,” he said
