The Emeritus Catholic Archbishop of Benin City Archdiocese, Archbishop Patrick Ebosele Ekpu is died.
This was contained in a statement issued by Very Rev. Fr. Michael Oyanoafoh, on behalf of Catholic Archdiocese of Benin and made available to journalists in Benin on Wednesday.
The statement stated that Archbishop Ekpu reportedly died at the age of 92 after a brief illness on Tuesday, August 06, 2024 at 7.09pm.
Rev Fr Oyanoafoh, further added that details of his funeral arrangement will be made known later.
He urged priests, religious and lay faithful of the Catholic archdiocese to put him in our prayers.
“May he rest in peace and may the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen” he added.
