Former Bayelsa MILAD, Caleb Olubolade Collapse While Playing Tennis, Passes at 70

Ex Bayelsa Military Administrator,  former Minister of Special Duties and retired naval officer, Captain Caleb Olubolade (rtd.), has died at the age of 70 after collapsing during a tennis game in Lagos.

According to a statement issued by his children, Akinadewo and Dayo Olubolade, the ex-military governor collapsed suddenly on Sunday evening while playing lawn tennis in the Apapa area of Lagos.

Despite the swift intervention of nearby medical personnel, he was confirmed dead on arrival at Obisesan Naval Medical Hospital.

The shocking incident occurred just months after he marked his 70th birthday on November 30, 2024.

Captain Olubolade, known for his calm demeanor and disciplined leadership, served as Minister of Special Duties under former President Goodluck Jonathan. 

A highly respected officer, he retired from the Nigerian Navy with the rank of Captain and previously governed Bayelsa State during the military era.

Tributes have begun pouring in from political and military circles, remembering him as a patriotic leader who served Nigeria with distinction in both military and civil capacities.
