Armed bandits have on Sunday reportedly invaded Ekuku community in Kwara State, near the border with Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
It was gathered that the invaders stormed the community in large numbers at about 6:30 a.m on Sunday, stole several cows, and set a vigilante vehicle ablaze.
A member of local security guards, who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
According to him, bandits attacked the security team at Ekuku today(Sunday), stole many cows and burnt vigilante vehicle to ashes.
“The vehicle belongs to the vigilante group in Ekiti Local Government Area in Kwara State.
“We appeal to State Government, to come to our aid; these bastards are everywhere. They are uncontrollable. Everything in this vehicle has been burnt.”, he said.
Efforts, to get the reaction of the Kwara State police command was unsuccessful as the command police public relations officer PPRO could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.
