Protesters at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja have been disperse by armed security operatives who fired gunshots at them.
Journalists covering the demonstrations were not spared by the brutalities of the officers.
The security operatives were said to have aimed at demonstrators and journalists, who ran for cover.
The NETWORK gathered that a vehicle belonging to Premium Times report was shot at while driving.
The combat-ready officers had also fired teargas at the protesters in a bid to disperse them.
The demonstrators had reconverged to press on with their demands
The protesters, lesser than the number witnessed the previous days, had reconverged at the facility.
But after some hours, police officers fired teargas canisters to disperse them.
The MKO Abiola Stadium is the officially designated venue for the protests in the nation’s capital.
A court order had restrained the #EndBadGovernance demonstrators from using other facilities.
The NETWORK recalls that on Friday teargas canisters were also fired at the protesters when they gathered in the Berger roundabout area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
But the protests are continuing – although there is a reduction in the number of demonstrators – in other parts of the country.
Lagos, Benin City in Edo State, and Port Harcourt in Rivers State are also witnessing protests, according to reports by Saturday PUNCH and Channels TV.
