The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has initiated the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to ensure the safe recovery of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the Afenifere Youth Leader, who was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, it was emphasized that the police are fully committed to Ojajuni’s safe return and are mobilizing all necessary resources and expertise for the operation.
“The IGP commends the courage and rapid response of our gallant officers who are dedicated to safeguarding citizens,” Adejobi noted, reiterating that the police will prioritize Ojajuni’s safe rescue.
He also cautioned the public against spreading unverified information on social media, stating that such actions could compromise the operation and endanger the victim’s safety.
He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and refrain from speculation regarding the ongoing rescue efforts.
He said the Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its efforts to eliminate criminal elements within communities, aiming to restore peace and safety for all.
In addition to the rescue operation, Adejobi highlighted recent successes, including the apprehension of 20 suspects during a raid on a criminal hideout in Taraba State on February 26, 2025.
He said the operation resulted in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, live ammunition, a motorcycle, and other weapons.
