Fidelia Soriwei, Abuja

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has appointed Barrister Hafsat Ada’u Kutama as the Acting Chairperson of the state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The appointment was announced on Wednesday by Ibrahim Adam, the governor’s Special Adviser on Social Media, through his verified social media handle.

“His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed Barr. Hafsat Ada’u Kutama, as the Acting Chairperson of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Kano State,” Adam said.

Kutama previously served as the Secretary of the commission before her appointment as acting chairperson.

“Until her appointment, Barr. Hafsat served as the Secretary of the Commission,” Adam added.

Her appointment follows the resignation of the substantive chairman of the commission, Saidu Yahaya, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Yahaya was appointed chairman of the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission in August 2025.

He succeeded Muhuyi Rimin Gado, whose tenure as chairman had expired before Yahaya’s appointment.

Kutama will oversee the affairs of the commission in an acting capacity following the leadership change.
