Kogi Council Mourns as Former NUJ VP, Omale is dead

Mathias Omale, the former Vice President of Zone D, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), is dead.

 He died in Lokoja on Sept. 16, after a brief illness.

Omale, worked for the Kogi State Broadcasting Service where he retired as a Deputy Director, News, in 2020.

In its reaction, the Kogi State Council of the NUJ has described the death of the veteran journalist, Comrade Mathias Omale as an unfortunate and great loss to the profession.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna and Secretary, Comrade Olusegun Ayindero-Oyenibi respectfully noted that Omale has contributed immensely to the successes achieved in the union in the state while in active service.

According to the statement, the one-time Vice President of Zone D would be missed for his meaningful impact at the national and state levels fostering unity, peace and love among members.

The statement which described death as the end of all mortals, condoled with the immediate family, colleagues and friends of the deceased and prayed God to grant all , the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
