Troops Kill 75 Terrorists, recovered 2 aircraft  engines in Borno

The Nigerian t troops on internal operations, neutralized 75 terrorists, arrested 138 suspects and rescued 46 hostages in Borno State.

 The troops also recovered two calibrated aircraft engines from a longtime unidentified aircraft crash site in the State.

Director Defence of  Media Operations, Defence  Headquarters, Major General Markus Kangye said the  operations took place between 3 January – 13 February 2025.

Kangye who announced this on Thursday at a press conference in Makurdi, revealed that troops also arrested 36 suspected oil thieves and recovered stolen products worth N646,189,690.00

“Two calibrated aircraft engines from a longtime unidentified aircraft crash site, one double barrel cannon gun and 16 missiles were also recovered.

“The troops within the period under review recovered 104 assorted weapons and 2,639 ammunition.

“Also recovered were 55 AK47 rifles, 20 locally fabricated guns, eight dane guns, 18 pump action guns, 1,826 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 376 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 366 rounds of 7.62 x 12.7mm ammo, 26 cartridges as well as other 14 assorted arms and 45 assorted ammunitions.

“In the Niger Delta region, troops recovered 497,152 litres of stolen crude oil, 142,000 litres of illegally refined AGO and 4,075 litres of PMS. They discovered and destroyed 164 crude oil cooking ovens, 37 dugout pits, 19 boats, 16 storage tanks, 38 drums and 42 illegal refining sites”, Kangye stated.

He further said other items recovered during the period include three pumping machines, four tricycles, seven motorcycles, five mobile phones and three vehicles, among others.
