The Senator representing Kogi Central,  Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reaffirmed her bid for a second term in the National Assembly after successfully completing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) screening exercise for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise, which took place in Lokoja, Kogi State, brought together aspirants seeking various elective positions under the PDP platform as the party prepares for its primaries.

Her participation was confirmed shortly after the screening, where she described the process as seamless and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to present her credentials before party officials.

“Today, I travelled to Lokoja to participate in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) screening exercise for aspirants seeking elective offices in the 2027 general elections,” she said.

“Taking no chances, I arrived fully prepared with all required credentials and supporting documents. I am pleased to have successfully completed the screening exercise as part of the process ahead of the party primaries for the 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial Election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).” She said

Akpoti-Uduaghan used the moment to restate her commitment to legislative service, describing her political mission as one anchored on representation and sustained development for her constituency.

“This represents a renewed commitment to quality representation, purposeful leadership, and continued service to the people,” she said.

Ahead of the 2027 race, the senator also outlined a broad policy direction she intends to pursue if re-elected, focusing on human capital development, infrastructure expansion, healthcare improvement, education support, and economic empowerment across Kogi Central.

Her proposed agenda includes expanded youth and women empowerment programmes, scholarships and educational support initiatives, rehabilitation of rural roads, improved healthcare delivery systems, and stronger backing for small and medium-scale enterprises.

She also pledged to intensify efforts to attract federal projects to the district, improve electricity supply, strengthen grassroots security collaboration, and create more job opportunities across the five local government areas of Kogi Central.

Supporters across the district have continued to express optimism over her political prospects, describing her participation in the screening as a strong step toward consolidating support ahead of the PDP primaries and the 2027 elections.

Party stakeholders, youth groups, and women associations are also said to be increasingly mobilising in her favour as the race gathers momentum.
