The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on Thursday received the former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), Maj. Gen. Maharazu Tsiga, and 18 other rescued kidnap victims.
The victims were rescued by the National Counter Terrorism Center.
The National Counter Terrorism Center did the handing in Abuja, attesting to the ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and insecurity in the country.
It would be recalled that Tsiga was kidnapped with other persons on February 5, 2025, from his hometown of Tisga in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
He, however, regained freedom on Wednesday after spending 56 days in captivity.
Ribadu while receiving the rescued victims applauded the efforts of the security personnel and intelligence agencies involved in the rescue operation.
The NSA assured that the federal government would continue to show commitment towards enhancing national security and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
