The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has urged the party’s candidates to intensify their campaigns following the upload of its approved logo on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal.
Dickson, a former Bayelsa State governor, made the call in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday, while expressing appreciation to the judiciary and INEC for complying with the court judgment that paved the way for the development.
He commended INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, and members of the commission’s team, as well as the NDC National Chairman, Moses Cleopas, and members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), for their efforts.
With the logo now uploaded, Dickson said the party’s candidates could proceed with printing campaign materials, consultations and other campaign activities with greater certainty.
“Our approved logo has now been uploaded, and candidates can print campaign materials and continue their consultations and campaigns with certainty,” he said.
He urged candidates to work closely with the party at all levels in setting up their campaign teams, warning against actions that could undermine the party’s collective interests.
“I call on all candidates to work with the party at all levels in the composition of their campaign teams, as they are not independent candidates, and avoid self-sabotage,” Dickson said.
The NDC leader also called for an environment in which candidates could campaign freely across the country without intimidation.
“We are fighters, and we will fight until the end. We have resisted those who sought to use the judiciary against the party, and they have failed,” he said.
Describing the NDC as a product of “vision, selfless dedication, and commitment to democratic ideals,” Dickson said the party remained committed to defending Nigerians’ democratic rights and strengthening multi-party democracy.
He urged party members and candidates to remain united as they prepare to take their message to voters across the country.
