The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) will on Monday commission its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja, inaugurate its National Campaign Council and present Certificates of Return to its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party announced the activities in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, on Sunday, outlining a three-part programme for October 26.

The day’s events will begin with a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) at 10am at the JD Vance Centre, opposite A-Class Park, Kashim Ibrahim Way, Maitama, Abuja.

The party will commission its new national secretariat in Jabi at 2pm before inaugurating the National Campaign Council at 5pm. The programme will end with a dinner.

According to the statement, attendance at the NEC meeting will be restricted to committee members, with entry strictly by invitation.

Participation in the campaign council inauguration will also be limited to members of the National Working Committee, the party’s presidential candidate and running mate, governorship candidates, and National Assembly candidates.

The inauguration and presentation of Certificates of Return form part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections, as it moves to establish its campaign structure and bring its candidates together.

The party did not provide details of the campaign council’s membership or operational responsibilities in the announcement.

The NDC expressed appreciation to members across the country for their continued support and loyalty.

“Together, we can make a New Nigeria Possible,” the statement said.
