Troops of 82 Division Garrison operating under Sector 1, Operation UDO KA, in collaboration with operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Enugu State Command have achieved another significant operational success in the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY II.

Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations of 82 Division Nigerian Army, Enugu confirmed this in a statement on Friday.
According to him, the operation was carried out in continuation of the series of intelligence led operations to degrade the combat power of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) /Eastern Security Network (ESN) in the South East region.
“This is in an effort to consolidate the ongoing peace building efforts in the region.
“In addition to the successes recorded on 9 June 2026 at Gariki, Enugu South Local Government Area, troops further raided a Safe House located at Agbani, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State during which troops uncovered a clandestine arms hideout.
“A thorough exploitation of the apartment led to the recovery of more weapons and ammunition. These include AK- 47 Riffles, AK-47 magazines, 323 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and 10 x pairs of IPOB uniforms,” he stressed.
Ayeni stated that the recovered items and arrested suspects have been handed over to the DSS Enugu State Command for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
“This Operation reflects Operation UDO KA’s unwavering commitment to sustaining offensive actions against criminal and terrorist networks that could undermine the ongoing peace building process in the region.
