In a devastating attack on Friday night, suspected terrorists invaded Lighitlubang village in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing at least five people.
The shocking assault occurred as residents slept, leading to a gruesome scene that has left the community in turmoil.
An eyewitness, Moses Bankat, recounted the harrowing details, saying, “It happened yesterday at about midnight. Some suspected terrorists entered Lighitlubang village in Bungha District and slaughtered a family of five—a man, his wife, and child, along with another couple.”
Plateau State Police Command spokesman DSP Alabo Alfred confirmed the tragedy, stating that security forces have been dispatched to the area to restore order and launch an investigation. “I will gather more information from the DPO once they return from the village,” he assured.
The brutal attack has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents expressing deep fear and anxiety, fearing further violence in the area.
