NJC Recommends Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the Next CJN

The National Judicial Council has recommended Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as next Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The NJC made the  recommendation at  its 106th meeting on Thursday presided over by the ongoing CJN, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola,

The Network investigation revealed that the meeting which was original scheduled to hold on Friday was shifted forward to Thursday.

Justice Kekemeke-Ekun is expected to take take over from the outgoing Justice Ariwoola who will retire from service on August 22, having attained the mandatory retirement age of 70.

The NJC also recommended a total of 27 candidates  for appointment as judges of state high courts and one  Kadi of the Sharia Court of the FCT, Abuja.

The NJC conducted the final oral examination for the candidates invited from the states for appointment on Tuesday.
