The Oyo State Government has commenced the demolition of a building allegedly used as a hideout by the kidnappers of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.
The demolition exercise began on Monday at Lakoun Estate, along the Olomi–Olojuoro Road in Oluyole Local Government Area of the state.
Mrs. John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons were abducted last Wednesday while on their way to school but were rescued by security operatives on Saturday following a coordinated operation.
Sources in Ibadan said officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, accompanied by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, arrived at the location with heavy equipment to carry out the demolition.
The property is believed to have been used by members of the kidnapping syndicate allegedly involved in the abduction of the victims.
Although the state government had yet to issue a detailed official statement on the operation as of the time of filing this report, the demolition is seen as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and infrastructure linked to kidnapping activities in the state.
Security personnel were observed maintaining a presence around the area during the exercise to ensure public safety and prevent any disruption.
Further details are expected as authorities provide additional information on the operation and ongoing investigations into the activities of the suspected kidnappers.
