The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Kadir Owolabi, a motorcyclist, who was found in possession of three human skulls during a routine stop-and-search operation.
According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the arrest occurred on Monday, when officers from the 71 Police Mobile Force (PMF) stationed in Awa Ijebu conducted a stop-and-search at the Refugees Camp Junction along the Ijebu-Ode-Ibadan Expressway.
“At approximately 2:00 p.m., Owolabi, who was riding a motorcycle, was stopped for inspection. A search of his luggage led to the shocking discovery of three human skulls.
“Following the discovery, a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of another suspect, Jamiu Yisa, aged 53, behind the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Secretariat,” Odutola confirmed.
The case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, under the direction of Police Commissioner Lanre Ogunlowo.
The police have vowed to take decisive action against criminal activities in the state.
Odutola urged residents to continue cooperating with law enforcement agents, assuring that any information shared would be handled with confidentiality and respect for privacy.
