The Nigeria Police Force has declared controversial journalist and publisher Tega Samson Oghenedoro, popularly known as Fejiro Oliver, wanted over allegations of cyberstalking and criminal libel, adding a new dimension to the growing legal troubles surrounding the publisher.
Oghenedoro is now being actively sought by the police, effectively making him a fugitive from the law as authorities move to apprehend him over alleged defamatory publications circulated through a Facebook account bearing the name “Fejiro Oliver.”
The wanted declaration was contained in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin issued under the authority of the Inspector-General of Police and circulated by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Delta State Command, Asaba.
According to the police, the alleged offences were committed on Facebook between May and July 2025. The authorities specifically linked the publications to allegations of cyberstalking and criminally defamatory content.
The police identified Oghenedoro, 38, as an “acclaimed journalist” and provided his physical description in the wanted notice to assist members of the public and law-enforcement personnel in identifying him.
The bulletin also called on anyone with information about his whereabouts to report immediately to the police or hand him over to the nearest police station.
The declaration represents a significant escalation in the authorities’ dealings with Oghenedoro, whose practice has grown around a pattern of highly contentious publications and online allegations against individuals and public officials.
Through SecretsReporters, the platform he publishes, Oghenedoro has repeatedly used social media and online publications to make allegations of corruption, misconduct and other wrongdoing against prominent Nigerians.
While he has defended the publications as investigative journalism, some of his targets and authorities have accused him of crossing the line into cyberstalking, harassment and criminal defamation.
The latest police action comes amid a series of controversies involving the publisher. Only weeks earlier, Oghenedoro had been summoned by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre over allegations relating to “espionage and computer-related matters.”
The development followed reports that the Nigerian government had accused him and SecretsReporters of leaking government information to foreign governments.
Rather than submit quietly to the allegations, Oghenedoro publicly rejected them and portrayed the police action as an attempt to intimidate him and criminalise investigative journalism.
In a July 2026 post on X, he described the allegations as unprecedented and insisted that his activities were simply part of his work as an investigative journalist.
But the latest development is considerably more serious for the publisher. The police are no longer merely inviting Oghenedoro for questioning. They have formally declared him wanted and are asking members of the public to assist in locating him.
The police action places Oghenedoro in the position of a wanted suspect who is required to submit himself to the authorities and answer the allegations against him.
