•••Nothing Will Happen If Fubara is Impeached

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday, berated the Ijaw ethnic nationality saying none of them would have been Governor without him.
This is the second time the FCT Minister is casting aspersion on the Ijaw race.
Wike spoke during a chat with journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
Wike who was reacting on the raging political crisis in Rivers State claimed that the Ijaw ethnic group has no majority population in any of the Niger Delta States except Bayelsa.
He also made a reference to the foremost ijaw nation Leader, Pa Edwin Clark, saying he could not produce an Ijaw man as Governor of Delta State.
Wike a former Minister of State for Education was appointed into the position by former President Goodluck Jonathan, an Ijaw from Bayelsa State.
The former President and his wife are widely believed to have played a crucial role in Wike’s emergence as Governor of Rivers State.
The FCT Minister said that the Ijaws are the “minorities of minority” in Delta, which is not factual.
He said that the time has come to speak out on the Ijaw people as issues of whatever they could do would fade away when “the law speaks.”
“When the Law speaks, all these Asawana will die and the law has spoken. And let me tell you something, all these I am ijaw, Ijaw does not constitute the majority in the Niger Delta.
“People must speak out the truth. Heaven will not fall. Ijaw does not constitute the majority of the Niger Delta.
“What nonsense. Everyday people will just wake up, Ijaw would do this.
“In Akwa Ibom Ijaw can’t be governor. In Delta State, Ijaw is the minority of the minorities.
“With all due respect to our late elder statesman, Edwin Clark, He is from Delta. He had never produced Ijaw man to be Governor of Delta. He has never!
“The only place an Ijaw man can solely be the governor is in Bayelsa State, not in Edo or Rivers states, the minority of the minorities…” Wike bragged
Wike also said that nothing would happen if the Rivers State House of Assembly impeached Governor Sim Fubara for alleged impeachable offences.
He said, “If you have committed an offence to be impeached, what’s wrong? Is it a criminal offence? It’s provided in the constitution. Am I a member of the Assembly?
“If you have committed an infraction of the constitution and the Assembly deems it fit to say, you should be impeached.
“I have heard people say: ‘Oh, if they impeach him, there will be a breakdown of law and order’. Rubbish! Nothing will happen.”
