A tanker explosion in Agaie Local Government Area of Niger State has burnt 30 people and 50 cattle to death.
The fully loaded petrol tanker was said to have had a head-on collision with a truck carrying travellers and cattle from Wudil, Kano State.
The affected truck was conveying travellers and cattle from Wudil in Kano state to Lagos.
The Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Arah, confirmed the unfortunate incident to journalists on Sunday,
He confirmed that the NSEMA Rapid Response Team which responded to the call after the explosion, recovered 30 bodies from the accident scene.
He stated also that his team was still working to recover more bodies trapped inside the truck.
It was gathered that two other vehicles, a crane truck and a pickup were also affected by the explosion which occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday along the Lapai-Agaie road about 2 kilometers from the Dendo community in Agaie.
