President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, praising his years of public service, loyalty and commitment to Nigeria.
In separate messages marking Shettima’s Diamond Jubilee on Wednesday, the President and First Lady joined his wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, his children, family, friends and political associates in celebrating the milestone.
President Tinubu described Shettima as a patriot and trusted ally whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice, while commending his contributions to the administration and the All Progressives Congress.
“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” Tinubu said.
The President also praised Shettima’s record as Governor of Borno State and Vice President, as well as his earlier career in banking, saying he had demonstrated courage, diligence, compassion and dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians.
“I commend him for his years of dedicated public service, first as Governor of Borno State and subsequently as Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
He further highlighted Shettima’s role as chairman of the National Economic Council, saying his leadership had helped coordinate economic policy and strengthen cooperation between the Federal Government and state governments.
Tinubu also commended the Vice President’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, describing his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty as valuable to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” the President said.
He prayed for Shettima to receive continued divine guidance, protection, wisdom and good health, and to enjoy many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.
In her separate birthday message, Oluremi Tinubu described Shettima as a leader who had demonstrated “strength, loyalty, commitment and love for country” in his role as Vice President.
“On this occasion of your Diamond Jubilee, I join your wife, Her Excellency Hajia Nana Shettima, family and friends in celebrating you,” she said.
The First Lady also acknowledged Shettima’s achievements as a former Governor of Borno State, senator and banker, before praying for divine health, peace, joy and happiness as he marks his 60th birthday.
