President Bola Tinibu has honoured all
members of the national gemale basketball team, the D’Tigress and the technical crew with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON and a house.
The President also gifted each of the victorious players $100,000.
Vice President Kashim Shetima, who made the announcement on behalf of the President said that each of the coaches and technical officials will get $50,000.
The Federal Government also gifted each of the members of the team a three bedroom flat for each.
Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress, defeated Mali to win the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket final in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday.
The D’Tigress defeated the Mali 78-64 to lift the trophy for the fifth consecutive time.

The hard fighting D’Tigress defeated their Senegalese rivals with a historic 75-68 win at the Palais De la Sport, Treichville, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday.
