Tinubu Signs New Minimum Wage Bill Into Law

President Bola Tinubu has signed the new Minimum Wage Bill into Law.

The President signed the N70,000 Minimum Wage which was passed by the National Assembly,  at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday, July 29, 2024.

The Senate on Tuesday passed the bill to amend the National Minimum Wage Act, 2019  from N30,000 to the agreed sum of N70,000.

The Upper Chamber also passed the reduced timeframe for the review of the Minimum Wage from five years to three years to reflect the agreement reached between the organized labour and the Federal Government.

The President signed the bill into law law at 2 pm at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The event was witnessed by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, members of the executive and others.
