A gas tanker explosion at Karu Bridge, Nyanya, Abuja, has left several people feared dead and multiple vehicles engulfed in flames.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, has caused panic in the area and led to severe traffic congestion.
Reports indicate that at least seven bodies have been recovered so far, while emergency responders continue rescue operations.
Personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other security agencies are at the scene, working to contain the fire and assist victims.
The explosion has triggered a major gridlock along the Nyanya-Mararaba expressway, forcing many commuters to abandon their vehicles.
Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of casualties as rescue efforts are ongoing.
