United Nigeria Airlines on Monday removed social commentators VeryDarkMan (VDM) and Mr. Jollof from a flight after both men engaged in a physical altercation aboard an aircraft scheduled to depart from Asaba to Lagos.
The confrontation, which occurred during the boarding process, reportedly left passengers startled as the long-standing rivalry between the two public figures escalated into a fight.
According to eyewitnesses, tension began shortly after both men boarded the aircraft, leading to a scuffle that disrupted cabin order.
A video circulating online shows comedian Funny Bone, who was also on the flight, attempting to intervene and separate the pair.
Despite efforts to restore calm, airline officials stepped in and escorted both men off the plane.
Their removal caused a brief delay while the crew reassured other passengers and ensured safety procedures were followed before resuming the flight.
The feud between VDM and Mr. Jollof has played out publicly for years and has previously resulted in legal disputes, including a defamation suit filed by Mr. Jollof’s wife over comments made by VDM on social media.
VDM later confirmed the altercation in a video posted online, claiming he confronted Mr. Jollof and recounting how the fight unfolded.
“I don deal with Jollof for inside plane. This man dey bite, he no get shame,” he said in Pidgin, adding that the confrontation intensified when Mr. Jollof allegedly punched him.
