President Donald Trump has announced Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez as new president of the country.
Rodriguez who has been sworn in as the country’s new President by President Trump, said she is ready to cooperate with the United States in governing the country.
The former President, Nicolas Maduro, was captured by American troops a day on Saturday
He faces charges in New York federal court on existing “Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy” charges.
The development came after US forces captured Maduro after launching a “large-scale strike” on the South American country.
“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country,” Trump said on Truth Social.
“This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement.”

Trump revealed that Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has made herself available to Washington and announced that U.S. companies will take over the Latin American country’s oil industry, as she’s essentially willing to do what American think is necessary to make Venezuela great again.
