2027 Election: Yari Orders APC Campaign Teams to Submit Action Plans

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Abdullaziz Yari, has directed the council’s directorates to submit work plans detailing their strategies and activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yari gave the directive on Tuesday after the council’s first inaugural meeting of the directorates at the Presidential Campaign Office in the Central Business District of Abuja.

He said the officials had been assigned responsibilities by President Bola Tinubu and must demonstrate their commitment by delivering on their respective mandates.

“This meeting is a short one. What we did was direct the directorates to go and work to come up with their work plans and determine how best they are going to carry out this responsibility. We reminded them that we are all here on trust. Each and every person who sits under this roof is a trustee of the President. The President trusted us and gave us this responsibility. We must carry it out well and very, very well,” Yari said.

The former Zamfara State governor also outlined the campaign council’s ongoing consultations with traditional rulers, describing the engagements as an opportunity to seek their blessings, prayers and support ahead of the elections.

“We are still engaging with traditional rulers. As I said, we are visiting the royal fathers because we just seek their blessings. We need their prayers. And being the authority closest to the masses of the country, we need to go and explain to them where we are and where we want to go,” he said.

Yari announced that Kaduna would be the next stop on the consultation tour on October 24, 2026, with further engagements scheduled to continue until January 16, 2027.

“So, the next stop is Kaduna on October 24, 2026. And then, from there, the journey continues until January 16, 2027. At the end, by God’s grace, you know the result,” he added.

As part of the outreach, Yari and other members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on Sunday.

The campaign team has also held consultations with the emirs of Gwandu, Katsina, Daura and Zaria as part of efforts to build support for Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.

The engagements form part of the APC campaign council’s preparations for the forthcoming general elections, with party leaders reaching out to traditional and religious institutions while organising the directorates responsible for coordinating campaign activities.
