The Convener and Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has urged Nigerians to look beyond the discomfort of today and keep faith with the promise of tomorrow by re-electing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections.
He maintained that the road to national greatness is rarely smooth and that the reforms required to rebuild an economy and secure a nation may demand patience and sacrifice.
Tompolo, who made the remarks on Friday during the official inauguration of the movement’s campaign headquarters in Abuja by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, insisted that temporary hardship must not make people surrender a permanent future.
He announced that the headquarters would serve as a command centre for a determined grassroots campaign to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“This is more than the opening of an office. It is the opening of a new front in the effort to carry the message of Renewed Hope to every Nigerian.
“The gracious inauguration of this headquarters by our esteemed First Lady gives added significance to our mission and strengthens our resolve to reach every household, unit, ward, community, market and worship centre to mobilise support for President Tinubu.
“We are here to win support for Mr President and to stand firmly behind all candidates of the All Progressives Congress across the country.
“Your Excellency, in recent months, we have taken the message of Renewed Hope to the people with conviction and purpose. Our message is clear: Nigeria is not standing still; Nigeria is moving forward. The road to national greatness is rarely smooth, and the reforms required to rebuild an economy and secure a nation may demand patience and sacrifice,” he said.
The Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited explained that members of the movement had gone around, listened to citizens, engaged communities and explained why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a leader of courage, patriotism and steadfast belief in Nigeria, deserved the opportunity to serve a second term, with the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
He alluded to the fact that great nations were not built by avoiding difficult decisions, adding that they were built by leaders and citizens who possessed the courage to confront challenges, the discipline to remain focused and the compassion to ensure that no one was forgotten.
He explained that the task before everyone was therefore both political and patriotic: to defend the path of progress and give the Renewed Hope agenda the time and support required to deliver lasting results.
“Let us declare, with one voice and unwavering conviction: NEVER AGAIN SHALL WE ABANDON THE PATH TO NATIONAL PROGRESS FOR THE ILLUSION OF TEMPORARY RELIEF.
“I call on every member and supporter of this movement to become an ambassador of Renewed Hope. Let us knock on every door, cross every street and speak to every community with respect, clarity and confidence.
“Let us replace doubt with understanding, misinformation with facts and apathy with participation. Our responsibility is to explain, persuade and mobilise, one household, one ward and one community at a time.
“We must tell Nigerians why we believe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the right leader to consolidate the gains of ongoing reforms, strengthen the foundations of our economy and advance the development of our great country. Our campaign must be driven not only by slogans, but by evidence, engagement and a sincere commitment to the people.
“I urge all of us to remain united, focused and resolute. We will traverse the length and breadth of our great country, carrying our message to every Nigerian household and working tirelessly for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Tompolo stated.
The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, commended President Tinubu and the First Lady for the leadership they had provided in the country.
He promised to ensure an increase in the number of women in the National Assembly in appreciation of the First Lady’s efforts.
Akpabio also commended High Chief Tompolo for his patriotism and fight for justice.
He hailed the Tantita chairman for supporting continuity in governance under Tinubu.
Also in attendance were Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, his Ondo State counterpart, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu.
Kalu assured Nigerians that the President and his team would not fail the country.
“We are building the Nigeria of our dream with door-to-door and heart-to-heart engagement.
“PBAT and the current leadership will not fail Nigeria!” he said.
The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, also stressed the importance of door-to-door mobilisation, describing it as critical to effective community engagement.
