The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, on Saturday declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would win a second term in office in 2027.
He also declared that Nigerians who were not lazy would have food on their tables, as hunger linked to economic hardship continues to affect the country, insisting that there would be no food for lazy people in Nigeria.
Yari, who represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the Senate, made the declarations at the APC presidential campaign rally in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
The former Zamfara State governor said food was readily available in markets and questioned whether residents of Akwa Ibom were unable to afford food despite rising prices.
“Just as I said, we have hunger. Let me ask a question here. Akwa Ibom people, from where I came from, we have food in the market,” he said.
“I don’t know, in Akwa Ibom, is there any person who took his money to the market and found out there’s no rice? You didn’t answer me. Is there anybody with money in his pocket who goes to the market to get foodstuffs and says that there are no foodstuffs in the market?
“If there’s no food in the market, that’s what we are calling hunger. But anyone who is not a lazy person would definitely have food on his table.”
