Suspected bandits have invaded Odo-Ere community in Yagba West local government area of Kogi state and kidnapped four people.
Sources from the area who confirmed development said that the incidence happened at about 9pm on Sunday.
The sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, gave the names of the victims as Engr. Shina Ajere, Mr. Kehinde Afolabi, Damiola Ogun, and a woman popularly known as Iya Lara.
It was also gathered that the situation remains unclear, with unconfirmed numbers of additional victims feared to have been kidnapped as residents continue to look for missing persons.
The attack has thrown Odo-Ere into panic, as gunshots were reportedly heard across parts of the town, forcing residents indoors.
Security agencies are yet to release an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
However, residents, are calling for urgent intervention and sustained security presence.
Efforts to get reaction from the Kogi State command police public relations officer PPRO proved abortive as he could not be reached via his cell phone as at the time of filing this report.
