The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a review of standard passport application fees, with effect from Sept. 1.
ACI AS Akinlabi, the Service Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure in a statement on Thursday.
He stated that he adjustment applies only to applications processed within Nigeria.
Under the revised structure, a 32-page passport with five years validity will now cost N100,000, while a 64-page passport with 10 years validity will be issued at N200,000.
Nigerians in the diaspora will not be affected by the changes, as their current fees remain unchanged at $150 for a 32-page passport with five years validity and $230 for a 64-page passport with 10 years validity.
He explained that the review is part of its effort to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport while also ensuring service delivery remains accessible to citizens.
