BREAKING: Tinubu,  Labour Agree on N70,000 Minimum Wage 

President Bola Tinubu and the organized labour, on Thursday 18, 2024, agreed on N70,000 as the new national minimum wage. 

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, while briefing correspondents at the end of the meeting, said the President shifted from the N62,000 to N70,000.

He said the  agreement was reached at the end of the meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, between the President and leaders of of the organised labour led by Joe Ajaero and Festus Usifoh, respectively.

Ajaero represented the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), while the Trade Union Congress (TUC), was led by Usifoh.

He disclosed that it was with a commitment to embark on massive investment in infrastructure, renewable energy as well as to make CNG buses available. 

According to him, the review of the national minimum wage will now come after every three years intervals.
