Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, on Thursday, hailed President Tinubu’s appointment of Dame Didi Esther Walson-Jack as new Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
Diri who said the appointment of Walson-Jack was a well deserved one described her as a seasoned administrator whose wealth of experience would add immense value to the present government.
The Governor in a statement by Daniel Alabrah, his Chief Press Secretary said the appointment that was announced on Wednesday(yesterday), was heartwarming, well received and it brought joy to the people of Bayelsa State and the Ijaw nation in general.
Senator Diri commended President Tinubu for honouring Bayelsa by appointing a daughter of the State and recognising competence, hard work and distinction.
He stressed that the new HoSF’s had displayed dedication and excellent performance in every office she has occupied.
While congratulating the new appointee, the Bayelsa Governor described Didi Walson-Jack as a distinguished civil servant with an exceptional public service career.
“Your appointment as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation is a significant milestone in your public service career.
“The government and people of Bayelsa State, and, indeed, the Ijaw nation are excited about this remarkable advancement and achievement of a worthy daughter of our state and the Ijaw nation.”
While commending President Bola Tinubu, Governor Diri noted that it is equally gratifying that merit was not sacrificed for other primordial considerations in appointing Didi Walson-Jack.
He said Mr. President has again proven that he is a leader who is committed to fairness, justice, national integration and upholding of the principles of federal character in his administration.
Diri said that he is optimism that the new HoSF will bring innovation and her wealth of experience to bear in this assignment and service to the country.
