Hunger Protests: More Security Personnel in Owerri Streets  than Protesters

•••As Residents Keep Indoor to Observe Ipob Sit-at-Home Order

The #EndBadGovernance  nation-wide protest, which started on Thursday, failed to hold in all parts of Imo State following peoples refusal  to come out and embark on it.

Owerri, the capital of Imo State and its environs were completely deserted without any form of movement of people within and outside the state.

More security personnel were seen in the streets of Owerri than protesters as the residents opted to observe the sit-at-home order of separatist group IPOB.

The Network observed complete abandonment of roads, streets, market, and schools

All commercial banks, filling stations, motor parks, hotels, and  shops in the streets of Owerri were closed down.

The situation was not different in the major roads linking the state such as Owerri/Onitsha road, Owerri/Umuahia road, Owerri/Port Harcourt road amongst other which were also deserted.

Only the security operatives on steady  patrol moving from one side of the state to the other in line with the deployment of security personnel to ensure water tight security in the state.

Residents rather resorted to  staying back in  their homes than coming out for any protest.

The President General of Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders CONYL Comrade Goodluck Ibem said that the president of Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders and Coalition of South East Youth Leaders had moved round to make sure that there was no protest against Mr. President who is already doing well in transforming the economy of the country.

He described it as unfortunate that President Tinubu inherited bad economy, however assured that he was doing his best to bring back the economy on track.
